When I was just a little girl,
around the age of four.
A very special set of friends
came knocking on my door.
There was a fuzzy little bear,
his name of course was Pooh.
Joining him was Eeyore, Tigger,
Piglet and Christopher Robin
too.
Every day when I awoke,
I knew there would be fun.
As we headed out hand in hand
to play in the warm summer
sun.
We would venture deep into
the woods
where the Heffalumps and Woozles
play.
Stopping by to visit Kanga,
Owl and Rabbit,
searching for a smackeral
of honey along the way.
We would laugh, read stories,
have a tea party
and swing from the backyard
tree.
Every day was an expotition
for
Winnie the Pooh and me.
At night after milk and cookies,
we would climb the stairs
for bed.
Pooh would whisper his prayers
to me
just before I bowed my head.
We crawled under the covers
together,
cuddling close under the starlit
sky.
To dream of new adventures,
together we would fly.

"Without Pooh the adventure
would be impossible…"
"Pooh,
promise you won't forget about me, ever.
Not
even when I'm a hundred."
Pooh
thought for a little.
"How
old shall I be then?"
"Ninety-nine."
Pooh
nodded.
"I promise,"
he said.
Still
with his eyes on the world Christoper Robin
put
out a hand and felt for Pooh's paw."
