~ Parent's Ten Commandments
~
Teach them using God's word.
These commandments that
I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your
children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when
you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Tell them what's right and
wrong.
The prospect of the righteous
is joy,
but the hopes of the
wicked come to nothing.
Proverbs 10:28
See them as gifts from God.
Sons are a heritage from
the Lord,
children a reward from
him.
Psalms 127:3
Guide them in Godly ways.
Train a child in the way
he should go,
and when he is old he
will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Discipline them.
Discipline your son, and
he will give you peace;
he will bring delight
to your soul.
Proverbs 29:17
Love them unconditionally.
A new command I give you:
Love one another.
As I have loved you,
so you must love one another.
John 13:34
Do not provoke them to wrath.
Fathers, do not exasperate
your children; instead,
bring them up in the
training and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4
Earn their respect by example.
He must manage his own
family well and see
that his children obey
him with proper respect.
1 Timothy 3:4
Provide for their physical
needs.
If anyone does not provide
for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family,
he has denied the faith
and is worse than an unbeliever.
1 Timothy 5:8
Pass your faith along to
them.
Consequently, faith comes
from hearing the message,
and the message is heard
through the word of Christ.
