| A beary long time ago, in a land far, far away there lived a very powerful King and Queen. The King and Queen owned all of the lands outside of their castle, as far as the eye could see. They had all of the riches that money could buy, but alas they were not happy. You see what they wanted most of all was a child. Unable to have a baby of their own, they were very sad. One day a poor beggar woman carrying a bundle appeared at the castle gate and asked to see the King and Queen. Only after she was granted an audience with them would she reveal what was in her arms. Much to the suprise of the King and Queen her bundle contained the most beautiful baby girl they had ever seen. She begged the King and Queen to care for her child as she was no longer able and she knew them to be good of heart. The King and Queen agreed happily and soon this beautiful baby girl became the most loved Princess in the land. So began a wonderful time in the Land of the Bear Princess. Seeing how much love this little girl brought into the Castle, the King and Queen sent word to all of the villages that they were willing to care for all orphan baby girls. To continue the spirit of this kind hearted King and Queen, a proclamation was made to stand for all time. Any orphan baby girl in the village was to be brought to the Castle and she would grow up to become a beautiful Bear Princess. When she was ready, a beary special home would be found for her so she too could live happily ever after. |
